Boyne Valley

The bone valley is a famous destination to visit where you can see the historic land with beautiful sites and few of the great monuments of Europe.

Situated in the north east of Ireland the Boyne Valley is surrounded with two counties , Louth and Meath which is a very popular travel destinations and famous for its heritage, culture and romance.

They Boyne Valley has fertile lands and forested landscape which is the most historic area of the Ireland and it has some fabulous prehistoric sites, now this area become the world heritage site.

The people were living in this area built massive burial tombs on the side of the Boyne river and on the hills of Loughcrew. The Neolothis tombs of Knowth, Newgrange and Dowth now regularly attract great numbers of visitors from all over the world, these tombs are predated Stonhenge by 1000 years and older than the Egyptian pyramids.


Sights

Newgrange
Newgrange is perhaps the best example of a passage grave in Western Europe and one of the most famous sites in Ireland. According to the reliable carbon 15 dates the Passage grave dates to 3000 B.C which means it predates to both Stonghenge and the Pyramids of Egypt.


Old Mellifont Abbey
St Malachy founded the Mellifont Abbey in 1142 and In Ireland it was the first Cistercian Abbey that sits in a quiet place on the banks of the Mattock River about 7 miles from Drogheda.
